Balsa & Basswood Scraps

For most economical shipping for scraps choose one of the following options:

• 26x20x20 for 24 inch lengths = 6.019 cubic feet
• 32x20x16 for 30 inch lengths = 5.926 cubic feet
• 37x20x15 for 36 inch lengths = 6.424 cubic feet
• 49x20x10 for 48 inch lengths = 5.671 cubic feet

The handling charge for one of these large cardboard boxes is $11.00.

Shipping for one of these large boxes in the continental USA is usually between $40-$80 depending on your location.

• Miscellaneous Small Balsa Scraps $8.00 per cubic foot. The same type of balsa scraps seen in plastic bags at hobby stores that are sold for miscellaneous use. These scraps may be broken or discarded smaller balsa sticks, split or rejected end grain sheets, balsa sections, dowels and cutoffs, laser cut rejects, etc. The small scraps are excellent for balsa arts and crafts classes. Scraps separated by size and use. 6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.

• Miscellaneous Balsa Sticks are $12.00 per cubic foot. These scraps may be broken, defective, or discarded balsa sticks.  These are excellent for balsa airplane builders.  6.424 for 36 inch lengths or 5.388 cubic feet for 48 inch lengths is the most economical quantity to order.
  
  
• Miscellaneous Balsa Sheets are $9.00 per cubic foot. They consist of un-sanded and sanded broken sheets. Most of the scrap sheets are leftovers and usually are rough with saw marks on them. They may have knots or other defects which is why they were discarded into the scrap boxes. These are excellent for balsa airplane builders. 6.02 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order for 24 inch lengths, 5.926 for 30 inch lengths, 6.424 for 36 inch lengths, or 5.388 cubic feet for 48 inch lengths.

• Small or Medium sized Miscellaneous Balsa Blocks $19.00 per cubic foot. Ends or sections of balsa blocks that have been cut off for special requested sizes and leftovers from oversized rough-cut blocks. Good for carvers or school art projects and derby racers.

• Miscellaneous Thick Balsa Sheets $12.00 per cubic foot. These scraps are un-sanded sheets about 1.5 to 4 inches wide random and 3/8 to 3/4 thick and about 20 to 24 inches long.  Most economical quantity is 6.02 cubic feet in a 26x20x20 box.

• Basswood Miscellaneous Scraps $9.00 per cubic foot. Odd shaped sticks cutoffs, small basswood blocks, sheets, etc. 6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.

• Small or Medium sized Miscellaneous Basswood Blocks $19 per cubic foot. Ends or sections of basswood blocks that have been cut off for special requested sizes and leftovers from oversized rough-cut blocks. Good for carvers or school art projects and derby racers.

• Fine Balsa sawdust is $1.00 per pound and is a fine, powdery substance created by saws and sanding equipment. 6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.

• Medium Balsa Sawdust is $1.00 per pound and consists of granulated dust particles. 6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to send.

• Balsa Shavings and Chips are $1.00 per pound and are mainly made from planers and jointers. The coarse sawdust is is fluffy. 6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.
